Overview
Tales From the Farm by the Yorkshire Shepherdess is Amanda Owen's warm, witty collection of monthly Dalesman columns, gathered together for the first time. Fans of Our Yorkshire Farm and her bestselling memoirs will love this fresh instalment from Ravenseat, following Amanda, husband Clive and their nine children through calving, flooding, family milestones and the upheaval of the Covid-19 lockdown, set against the wild beauty of the Yorkshire Dales.

About the Book
Covering events from 2019 through to early 2021, this hardback takes readers into daily life on Ravenseat Farm, the remote hill farm in Swaledale that has captivated television audiences. Amanda recounts saving a newborn calf on New Year's Eve, then watching in disbelief as their livestock trailer is swept away by floodwater months later. Domestic life is never dull: son Sidney braves the wrath of Linda the formidable chicken, while husband Clive conjures an unusual Valentine's Day surprise. Eldest daughter Raven leaves home for university, a bittersweet milestone, while new arrivals young sheepdog Taff and Tony the pony bring fresh energy to the farm. As Covid-19 sends the country into lockdown, Amanda reflects on how fortunate she feels to live close to nature, finding comfort in the changing seasons of the Dales and the steady rhythm of the farming year. Illustrated throughout with charming line drawings, this collection captures the humour, hardship and heart of hill farming life, and works both as a stand-alone treat and a companion to her earlier bestsellers.
