Overview
This deluxe MinaLima edition of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book brings the classic tales of Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera and Shere Khan to life with lush four-colour illustrations and nine tactile 3-D interactive features. A stunning hardback keepsake for collectors, families and young readers, it pairs Kipling's original unabridged text with the acclaimed design studio's signature pop-ups, fold-outs and spinning elements, making a much-loved story feel brand new.
About the Book
First published in 1894, The Jungle Book is Rudyard Kipling's enduring collection of seven interwoven tales, each followed by a poem, set in the wild landscapes of colonial India. At its heart is the coming-of-age story of Mowgli, the boy raised by wolves, and his encounters with the wise bear Baloo, the watchful panther Bagheera and the menacing tiger Shere Khan. Beyond Mowgli's adventures, the volume gathers other beloved animal fables: the sea-faring journey of Kotick the white seal, the mongoose Rikki-Tikki-Tavi's fight against the cobra Nag, Toomai's night with the dancing elephants, and the wry conversations of the Queen's pack animals. This MinaLima edition preserves Kipling's original language in full while reimagining the reading experience through specially commissioned artwork and nine exclusive interactive elements, including a map of the lost city where Mowgli is taken by the monkeys, a trifold of the Laws of the Jungle, a spinning dial depicting the elephant dance, and a map charting Kotick's route to a new home. Printed across 256 pages, the book is designed as both a faithful literary edition and a hands-on visual adventure, encouraging readers to pause, explore and return to favourite scenes again and again. It sits within Harper Design's series of reimagined classic children's books, following the same acclaimed format used for other much-loved stories.
