Overview
The Thomas Kell Spy Thriller Series 3 Books Collection Set brings together Charles Cumming's acclaimed trilogy in one brand new paperback bundle. Following disgraced MI6 officer Thomas Kell across three character-driven espionage novels, this set delivers international intrigue and page-turning tension from a writer regularly compared to John le Carré. Ideal for established thriller readers or newcomers to modern British spy fiction, it's a complete introduction to one of the genre's most compelling recent protagonists, ready to read straight out of the box.
About the Books
This collection opens with A Foreign Country, in which Amelia Levene, six weeks from becoming the first female Chief of MI6, vanishes without trace; disgraced agent Thomas Kell is brought back in from the cold to track her through France and North Africa, uncovering a conspiracy threatening Britain itself. In A Colder War, MI6's top officer in Turkey is killed in a suspicious plane crash, and Kell is the only man Service Chief Amelia Levene trusts to investigate; in Istanbul he uncovers a traitor embedded inside Western intelligence, with stakes rising when he meets the dead spy's daughter. The trilogy concludes with A Divided Spy, as Kell, having stepped away from the secret world, is drawn back in when the Russian agent he blames for his girlfriend's death resurfaces at a Red Sea resort, sparking a dangerous game of recruitment, revenge and shifting loyalties as old Cold War tensions resurface. Together the three novels form a complete, self-contained arc, tracing Kell's fall from grace, his uneasy redemption and the personal cost of a life spent in the shadows. Praised for authenticity, sharp plotting and psychological depth, these books have cemented Cumming's reputation as one of the finest contemporary voices in British spy fiction, and this set offers the ideal way to experience the full story from beginning to end.
About the Author
Charles Cumming is a British writer of spy fiction praised as among the best of the new generation of British spy writers following the tradition of John le Carré and Len Deighton. Educated at Eton College and the University of Edinburgh, where he graduated with first-class honours in English Literature, Cumming was approached for recruitment by MI6 in 1995, an experience that informs the authenticity of his novels. His books have been translated into numerous languages and published by HarperCollins in the UK and St Martin's Press in the US.
