Overview
Two's Company is the mainstream cookbook cooking-for-two households have been missing. Award-winning food writer Orlando Murrin serves up more than 65 original recipes designed from the ground up for pairs, not halved from family-sized dishes. Whether you're feeding a partner, a flatmate, or a good friend, this hardback delivers restaurant-quality results without the fridge full of sad leftovers. It's a genuinely useful, funny and confidence-building addition to any small kitchen.
About the Book
Most cookbooks assume you're feeding four, six, or a crowd, leaving anyone cooking for two stuck doing recipe maths or drowning in leftovers. Orlando Murrin set out to fix that gap with Two's Company, a collection built entirely around the realities of two-person households: couples, friends sharing a flat, or roommates who actually enjoy cooking from scratch. Rather than simply dividing family recipes in half, every dish here is engineered from scratch for two appetites, two portions, and minimal waste.
Drawing on years of experience as a food stylist and magazine editor, Murrin shares smart shopping strategies, clever portioning tricks, and chef-honed shortcuts that speed up weeknight cooking without sacrificing flavour. The recipes swing from cosy comfort food and homely stews to inventive "fake-away" nights and date-night showstoppers, so there's always something to suit the mood. Practical notes explain how to buy just enough of an ingredient, repurpose small quantities, and avoid the half-used jars and wilting vegetables that plague solo and duo cooking. The tone is warm, witty and encouraging, aimed at home cooks rather than professional chefs, which is part of why the book has been so widely praised by critics and food writers alike.
