About the Author
Robert Jordan was the pen name of James Oliver Rigney Jr. (1948–2007), an American author renowned as the creator of The Wheel of Time. A graduate of The Citadel with a degree in physics, he served two tours in Vietnam before turning to writing full-time. The Wheel of Time became one of the best-selling fantasy series of all time, selling over 90 million copies worldwide. Jordan died in 2007 with the series unfinished; Brandon Sanderson later completed the final three novels using his notes.
