Overview
Discover the #1 New York Times bestselling series that inspired the hit DreamWorks animated film. This charming paperback duo follows Roz, a robot who washes ashore on a remote wild island and must learn to survive among its animal inhabitants. Written and illustrated by award-winning author Peter Brown, the series explores friendship, family, and what happens when nature and technology collide - a brilliant gift for readers aged 8-12 who love adventure and animal stories.

About the Book(s)
In The Wild Robot, when robot Roz opens her eyes for the first time, she discovers that she is alone on a remote, wild island. She has no idea how she got there or what her purpose is - but she knows she needs to survive. After battling a fierce storm and escaping a vicious bear attack, she realises that her only hope for survival is to adapt to her surroundings and learn from the island's unwelcoming animal inhabitants. As Roz slowly befriends the animals, the island starts to feel like home - until, one day, her mysterious past comes back to haunt her.

In the sequel, The Wild Robot Escapes, Roz has learned to make the island her home and befriend its animals, even adopting a small orphaned gosling, Brightbill. But a new life is beginning - she has been taken away, far from her island, back to civilisation, where she must pretend to be a robot like any other, following orders and carrying out tasks on the farm where she now works. She knows she must never let anyone discover who she really is. And more than anything, she must find a way to escape, back to the island and her beloved Brightbill.
