About the Books
Winnie-the-Pooh introduces the world's favourite bear as he gets into a tight place, searches for the "right sort" of honey, and joins an expotition with Christopher Robin. When We Were Very Young is Milne's much-loved first verse collection, filled with playful rhymes. The House At Pooh Corner returns to the Hundred Acre Wood, introducing bouncy newcomer Tigger, a game of Poohsticks, and a Very Grand Thing done by Piglet. Now We Are Six is Milne's second poetry collection, following Christopher Robin as he grows older, with Pooh never far behind. Return to the Hundred Acre Wood, the authorised sequel by David Benedictus, marks Christopher Robin's joyful return to the forest. Finally, The Best Bear in all the World brings four brand-new stories from acclaimed authors Paul Bright, Brian Sibley, Jeanne Willis and Kate Saunders, with decorations by Mark Burgess inspired by E.H. Shepard's originals. Together, these six books trace the complete literary journey of Winnie-the-Pooh, from his 1926 debut to his most recent authorised adventures, making this the definitive fiction collection for any Pooh fan's bookshelf.
About the Authors
A.A. Milne was born in London in 1882 and became a celebrated playwright and poet. He based Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet and friends on the real nursery toys of his son Christopher Robin and published the first of their adventures in 1926, and his stories have since been translated into sixty-two languages. Return to the Hundred Acre Wood was written by David Benedictus, authorised successor to Milne's tales, while The Best Bear in all the World features new stories from Paul Bright, Brian Sibley, Jeanne Willis and Kate Saunders, with illustrations by Mark Burgess continuing E.H. Shepard's artistic legacy.
