Overview
Welcome to I Spy Island, the sunny, silly picture book series from Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet, the multi-million-copy bestselling creators of Supertato. This two-book paperback collection follows Island and its cheerful gang of friends as new mysteries wash ashore, turning a quiet stretch of sand into the setting for hilarious seaside escapades. Bright artwork and playful rhythm make this set ideal for young readers who love adventure with a splash of silliness.
About the Books
In the first book, I Spy Island, readers meet a happy little island in the middle of the ocean who loves nothing more than playing "I Spy" with friends Glove, Banana, Bird and Bottle. Their game is interrupted when something curious washes up on Island's chin, a mysterious object that turns out to be a rather self-important Treasure Chest expecting an immediate rescue. When no rescue party arrives, the islanders rally together to cheer their new friend up, in a warm, funny tale about friendship and the unexpected.
The adventure continues in Book vs. Shark, as Island and the gang, now joined by Treasure Chest, spy two new arrivals on the shore: a book who has lost its story, and a shark who might just eat everyone because he is dreadfully bored. Together the friends help the lost book rediscover its tale while keeping the restless shark entertained, a joyful celebration of storytelling praised as "sunny, silly and ideal for reading aloud." Both stories share the same gentle humour and bold illustration that make Hendra and Linnet firm favourites in British picture books.
