Overview
This charming two-book paperback set brings together two of Kanoko Egusa's best-loved adult coloring titles, Symphony of Cute Animals and Kingdom of Curious Creatures. Together the pair delivers over 150 whimsical, fairytale-inspired scenes of anthropomorphic animals, from raccoon artisans to hare wedding parties. Printed on high-quality paper suited to pencils, markers and gel pens, this brand-new set is a relaxing creative escape and a thoughtful gift for colorists of any experience level.
About the Books
Symphony of Cute Animals invites you into a gentle, storybook world where raccoons work as talented artisans, chickadees wander among flowers in fine dress, and ducklings don berets on their daily adventures. Across 88 pages you'll find 80 original illustrations, a mix of full-page spreads for immersive scenes and single-page vignettes for quicker sessions, each accompanied by a colored example to help spark your palette choices.
Kingdom of Curious Creatures takes you to a neighbouring corner of Egusa's fantasy realm across 96 pages of line art, where French Bulldogs tend a farmer's market stall, piglets nap in antique teacups, forest creatures share a feast, and hares celebrate an elaborate wedding. Illustration counts are listed slightly differently across retailers (74–80 designs), so please treat this as an approximate figure. As with its companion volume, the artwork was originally published in Japan and features Egusa's signature dip-pen linework, later digitised for crisp, colorable detail. Both books work equally well with colored pencils, fine markers, gel pens and light washes of water-based media, and both include sample colored pages to help you get started with confidence.
About the Author
Kanoko Egusa is a Japanese illustrator and designer, born in Sendai, who studied design and drawing at a vocational school in Kanazawa before working as a freelance graphic designer. In 2011 she founded her own design atelier, creating imaginative worlds populated by animals, flowers and plants. Egusa begins each illustration by hand with a dip pen and ink before digitising the artwork, drawing inspiration from nature, antique books, postcards and greeting cards to bring warmth and gentle humour to every scene.
Why You'll Love This Set
A generous, good-value pairing of two complete coloring books, offering variety, relaxation and hours of creative escape. Ideal for gifting to colorists, crafters, teachers or anyone who enjoys gentle, fairytale-style animal art.
