Overview
The Kingsbridge Novels 4 Books Collection Set brings together Ken Follett's sweeping historical saga in one brand new paperback bundle. Spanning nearly a thousand years of English history — from the Dark Ages to the Elizabethan era — this collection follows generations of Kingsbridge families through cathedral-building, plague, war, and political intrigue. Perfect for history lovers, book club readers, and anyone wanting to lose themselves in an epic, multi-generational saga from one of the world's best-loved authors.
About the Book(s)
The Pillars of the Earth is Ken Follett's classic historical masterpiece, set in twelfth-century England around the building of a great cathedral. It follows Philip, the resourceful prior of Kingsbridge, and Tom, the mason whose ambitions and struggles become entwined with a story of anarchy, betrayal, and absolute power.
World Without End returns to Kingsbridge two centuries later, in 1327, following four children — a thief, a bully, a boy genius, and a girl who dreams of becoming a doctor — whose lives are forever changed after witnessing a shocking act of violence. Their adult lives play out against the devastating backdrop of the Black Death.
A Column of Fire moves the saga forward to 1558, into the religious turmoil of Elizabethan England. Ned Willard finds himself torn between love and loyalty as Catholic and Protestant Europe descends into conflict, spycraft, and plots against the newly crowned Queen Elizabeth.
The Evening and the Morning, the prequel to The Pillars of the Earth, transports readers to 997 CE at the end of the Dark Ages, when a young boatbuilder, a Norman noblewoman, and an idealistic monk must navigate Viking raids and a ruthless bishop as the town of Kingsbridge takes shape.
